Annika Sorenstam gave her fans something special to remember Sunday with her final shot of the 63rd U.S. Women’s Open. It wasn’t the victorious finish she wanted, but it was stirring nonetheless. Sorenstam, who is retiring at the end of the season, holed a 6-iron from 199 yards for eagle to ignite a giant roar at Interlachen Country Club in Edina, Minn. “Leaving with another great memory, that’s for sure,” Sorenstam said after closing with a 78 to finish 12 shots behind. “Maybe not the one I had in mind, but I’ll take it.” Sorenstam, 37, won the championship three times.
