Getting your player ready...

It’s been a long time coming, but Troy Tulowitzki rediscovered his power stroke Sunday, hitting a two-run homer in the second inning to give the Rockies a brief 3-2 lead.

It was Tulo’s second homer of the season, his first in 44 at-bats and first since April 23.

“It was one of my better swings of late,” said Tulo- witzki, who hit 24 homers as a rookie last season. “I’m definitely feeling more comfortable up there, but one game or one week isn’t going to turn my season around.”

Roaring Tigers.

The Tigers have won 17 of 21, climbing one game above .500. They pounded out 13 hits Sunday, the fifth consecutive game in which they have had at least 10 hits.

Helton’s slump.

Todd Helton went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a walk, and grounded into an inning- ending double play in the fourth. Over his last 19 games, Helton’s average plummeted from .295 to .264.
