FORT CARSON, Colo.—The officer who led Fort Carson’s 4th Brigade Combat Team through a 15-month tour in Iraq will turn over command to another officer on Tuesday.
Col. Jeffrey L. Bannister will be succeeded by Col. Randy A. George.
The 4th Brigade, part of the 4th Infantry Division, was deployed to the Mideast from October 2006 through last December under Bannister’s command.
It was the 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division at the time but has since been reflagged.
The brigade has 3,600 soldiers.
Bannister had led the brigade since December 2005.
