BROOMFIELD — A Broomfield police officer fractured an ankle and finger Thursday night after a semi tractor-trailer he was pursuing cut in front of him and he swerved into a concrete barrier, authorities said.
The officer was taken to a hospital after the 8:36 p.m. accident on Sheridan Boulevard just south of East Ninth Avenue, said Sgt. Colleen O’Connell, Broomfield police spokeswoman.
The officer was riding north on Sheridan on his motorcycle trying to catch the truck, whose driver had been honking his horn in a possible road rage incident with a minivan, when the truck changed lanes in front of him, police said. Kirk Mitchell, The Denver Post
