Three people were stabbed during a fight early this morning as a man confronted partygoers at a next-door neighbor’s house about a burglary at his home, police say.

Two people had serious but not life-threatening stab wounds following the 3 a.m. fight at a home on the 3000 block of Denton Street. The third had less serious injuries, according to Sarah Huntley, Boulder police spokeswoman.

The names of the three injured persons and the neighbor have not been released.

Police found two injured people at Boulder Community Hospital-Balsam. A third adult knifing victim arrived at the same hospital later in the morning and acknowledged he was involved in the same fight, Huntley said.

One of the victims was treated and released from the hospital, she said.

All three victims had attended a party at a home on Denton Street, she said.

An adult neighbor, who had not attended the party, came home and found that his home had been burglarized. Believing that some of the guests at the party may have committed the crime, he confronted the partygoers, Huntley said.

A fight ensued and the three victims were stabbed, she said.

Police believe they have identified most, if not all, of those involved in the burglary and subsequent assault, Huntley said.

Because of conflicting accounts of what happened, no arrests have been made. Investigators continue to investigate the burglary and stabbings.
