Firefighters extinguished a blaze that engulfed one trailer and was threatening to spread to other trailers, authorities say.
The fire broke out at 5126 East 97th Pl. at about noon, said Ellis Howard, assistant chief of the South Adams County Fire Department.
A man was able to escape from the trailer and was not injured before the fire damaged more than half of the trailer, Howard said.
When firefighters arrived a second trailer was beginning to smoke, he said. The fire was under control in about five minutes after they arrived, he said.
Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started, Howard said.
