CHICAGO — The Cubs acquired talented right-hander Rich Harden in a six-player deal with the Athletics on Tuesday. Chicago also got right-hander Chad Gaudin, and sent promising right-hander Sean Gallagher, outfielders Matt Murton and Eric Patterson and minor-leaguer Josh Donaldson to the A’s.

The oft-injured Harden, eligible to be a free agent after the 2009 season, is 5-1 with a 2.34 ERA in 13 starts.
