The Rev. Jesse Jackson will give two speeches in Denver this weekend, former Mayor Wellington Webb announced today.

Jackson will speak Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Blair Caldwell Research Library at 2401 Welton St.

He will give a sermon at 11 a.m. Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church at 880 Fairfax St.

Jackson is a Baptist minister and civil rights activist who ran for president in 1984 and 1988. He is founder and president of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition.

Both talks in Denver are sponsored by the Colorado Black Chamber of Commerce. Webb is the chamber’s president and CEO.
