DENVER—Media members from across the country got an advance look at arrangements for the Democratic National Convention at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

The Democratic National Convention Committee received the keys to the Pepsi Center on Monday, and construction is already under way to transform the facility according to the wishes of Barack Obama’s campaign.

A media walkthrough Tuesday included hundreds of print, broadcast and online journalists who plan to cover the convention, scheduled to begin Aug. 25.

The final day of the convention, including Obama’s presidential nomination acceptance speech, will take place Aug. 28 at Invesco Field at Mile High, home of the NFL’s Denver Broncos.

Leah Daughtry, the chief executive officer of the national convention, says the decision to allow more people to witness the historic speech highlights the fundamental differences between Obama and Republican John McCain and shows that Obama is more inclusive.

Media representatives also received a tour of the Pepsi Center in November, said Natalie Wyeth, Democratic National Convention Committee spokeswoman.
