Michelle Obama, wife of presidential candidate Barack Obama, is scheduled to be in Denver next week for a fundraiser.

The $1,000-a-plate dinner at the Grand Hyatt Denver on July 16 is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m., with a VIP reception shortly before. Information can be found at .

It will be Michelle Obama’s first trip to Colorado since her husband secured the Democratic nomination for president. The event is a joint fundraiser for the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

In addition, the Obama campaign announced the hiring of its Colorado staff. Members of the Obama team: former Iowa field director Anne Filipic will be the campaign general election director, Artie Blanco is constituency director, Stephanie Mueller is communications director, Kevin Puleo is field director, Paul Schnaitter is political director and Joy Silvern is policy director.
