NEW YORK — A Brooklyn, N.Y., man with 22 prior convictions was sentenced to 30 months in prison Tuesday for sending more than 1.2 million unsolicited e-mails to AOL subscribers.

U.S. District Judge Denny Chin ordered Adam Vitale, 27, to forfeit $183,304 he earned from the scheme, which prosecutors said Vitale ran with a New Jersey man from April to August 2005. Authorities said Vitale and co-defendant Todd Moeller conspired to sell a product for a cooperating informant by sending the e-mails.
