Three California men have been arrested for investigation of forgery and identity theft after they tried to buy Rolex watches with bogus credit cards, authorities say.

Albert Yeghiazaryan, 31, of San Diego; Artur Khurblaryan, 22, and Vigen Grigoryan, 21, both of North Hollywood, were being held at Broomfield County Jail for investigation of forgery, identity theft and criminal impersonation.

On Saturday at 2:53 p.m. three men tried to buy two Rolex watches from Ben Bridge Jewelers, 1 West Flatiron Crossing Drive, using a counterfeit credit card, said Colleen O’Connell, Broomfield police spokesman.

An employee of the jewelry store noticed that the men were acting nervous and when he attempted to scan the card, one of the suspects asked for the card back and all three left the store, O’Connell said.

When police arrested the men at a different part of the mall, they had counterfeit driver’s licenses and credit cards, she said.

Police discovered that the men used fraudulent identification to buy items at Park Meadows mall in Douglas County on Friday, O’Connell said.
