Metro residents can expect slightly cooler temperatures today, as the afternoon high heads to 87 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies will bring a 40 percent chance of showers, and winds will blow calmly from the east northeast, the National Weather Service reports.
Tonight, the chance of rain will decline slightly, to 30 percent. Skies will remain cloudy, as the overnight low drops to 63 degrees. Gusts as high as 21 mph will interrupt otherwise steady winds, continuing out of the east northeast between 11 and 14 mph.
Friday will feel a lot like today, with a daytime high of 86 degrees and overnight low of 63. The chance of showers will hold steady at 30 percent, according to the Weather Service.
The weekend forecast is hotter and drier. Sunny skies will bring highs in the mid 90s both days, while the lows drop to the mid 60s.
The Weather Service expects a slight chance of rain throughout the beginning of next week. Temperatures will stay high, with skies partly cloudy.
