With “Mamma Mia!” and “The Dark Knight” bringing the songs of ABBA and the story of Batman back into the pop-culture spotlight this weekend, we decided to take a historical look at a few current shows that have seen several reincarnations of late.
Many of the titles below have actually existed in even more forms than we highlight below. But we picked the ones that made a hit — and then decided which hits made a lasting mark.
