Denver Councilwoman Jeanne Robb said she has secured enough votes to become the next council president on Monday.

“I got my votes, and I’m excited and honored,” she said. “I’m looking forward to a good year for the council.”

She said Councilman Rick Garcia, who had expressed interest in the presidency, would become the pro tempore. The current president, Michael Hancock, is finishing up his year in the post. Hancock will remain on the council.
