FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Prosecutors have dropped an assault charge filed against the son of a Greeley police officer accused of being involved in a bar fight in Red Feather Lakes.
Larimer County District Attorney Larry Abrahamson in a statement Friday said evidence has brought in question Daniel Hulsey’s involvement in the fight July 6.
Witnesses told investigators a fight erupted at Potbelly Restaurant and Bar when questions arose about whether one man was attracted to another man. Todd Taylor, Daniel Hulsey’s attorney, said the charge being dropped was a step in the right direction.
Greeley was conducting its own investigation into whether Hulsey’s father, Sgt. Kell Hulsey, was involved in the fight.
