The Broncos have reached an agreement in principle on a four-year contract with fourth-round draft pick Jack Williams, leaving only their first two draft picks unsigned.
Williams, who played cornerback at Kent State, will receive a guaranteed signing bonus of around $450,000. With the Broncos scheduled to report Thursday evening for the start of training camp, only first-round pick left tackle Ryan Clady and second-round returner/receiver Eddie Royal remain unsigned.
Williams will join an already deep cornerback core that includes starters Champ Bailey, Dre’ Bly and nickelback Domonique Foxworth, but he may get a chance to compete with Karl Paymah for the dime position. Williams should be in better position next year when Foxworth and Paymah become eligible for unrestricted free agency.
