Dish Network fell as much as 4.6 percent in Nasdaq trading after AT&T reported a decline in sales of Dish television service.
By the end of trading, Dish recovered most of its earlier losses, closing off 6 cents at $28.11. It had dropped as low as $26.88.
AT&T’s report poses the risk that Douglas County- based Dish may miss analysts’ estimates for second-quarter subscriber additions, and that AT&T may not renew a contract with Dish for 2009, instead favoring larger rival DirecTV Group, Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. analyst Craig Moffett said Wednesday in a note.
