GOLDEN — Jefferson County has joined the growing list of counties enacting fire restrictions to reduce the likelihood of human-caused wildfires.
The restrictions, imposed today and in effect until the sheriff rescinds them, prohibit any fire except in a permanent fire grate, and smoking except in an enclosed vehicle or building, developed recreation site or in an area at least 3 feet in diameter that is clear of combustible material.
