LONGMONT, Colo.—The pilot and passenger of a four-seat plane that made an emergency landing in a barley field on Wednesday were able to walk from the aircraft uninjured.

Pilot Brian Higley of Longmont and Robert Matlacki of Westminster were out of the plane by the time officers responded to the field near Vance Brand Airport.

The Beechcraft four-seater showed signs of engine trouble as it headed into the airport, airport manager Tim Barth told the Daily Times-Call.

Police Cmdr. Craig Earhart said officials from the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been contacted.
