CALGARY, Alberta—A Colorado man accused of sexually assaulting girls after he solicited them on the Internet is now being held on $100,000 bond after being deported from Canada.
Canada Border Services Agency officers in Alberta say they handed Matthew Clinton Bynum to investigators from the Larimer County sheriff’s office at Denver International Airport on Monday.
Border Services Agency spokeswoman Lisa White says Bynum is now permanently barred from returning to Canada.
Bynum was arrested in Edmonton, Alberta, last November after he fled to Canada, allegedly in an attempt to avoid criminal charges he faced in Denver.
Those include five counts of sexual assault on children, Internet luring of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
