LAKEWOOD — Two 14-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with a grass fire on Green Mountain earlier this week.

The fast-moving fire late Monday caused $25,000 in damage to two houses and forced the evacuation of eight others. About 5 acres of Lakewood open-space parkland were scorched.

West Metro Fire investigators, working with police, discovered that the fire was started with a lighter while the teens were hanging out in the greenbelt.

Charges are expected to include firing of woods and prairies, and several arson charges.
