Getting your player ready...
ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—The Denver Broncos re-signed wide receiver Taylor Jacobs on Saturday after a roster spot opened up with the injury to tight end Edel Shepherd.
Shepherd, a fifth-year player who joined the Broncos as a free agent in March, blew out his left knee on the first day of workouts Friday. He was placed on the team’s reserve/injured list.
Jacobs is a sixth-year pro who played in six games for the Broncos last season, catching three passes for 40 yards with one touchdown and five special teams tackles. He was released June 13.
Jacobs also has played for San Francisco and Washington, which selected him in the second round of the 2003 draft out of the University of Florida.
