Hundreds of people danced, sang and praised Jesus Christ during Denver’s first Marcha de Gloria Colorado held Saturday in Denver Civic Center park.
Church members from a variety of Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking churches throughout the metro area gathered to listen to Christian bands and hear testimony.
Organizers of Marcha de Gloria Colorado began planning the event three months ago, shortly after a Marcha de Gloria in March drew more than one million people in Mexico City.
Marcha de Gloria Colorado organizers got the word out about the rally by e-mail, Spanish-language radio and word of mouth.
Close to 4,000 people attended Saturday’s event in Denver, with some pastors traveling from Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Australia and Canada to speak, organizers said.
Plans for the next Marcha de Gloria Colorado have already begun, and organizers hope next year that 100,000 people will attend the July 25 event. Annette Espinoza, The Denver Post
