PUEBLO, Colo.—BP Solar is installing a solar electric system this month at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
The system, in excess of one megawatt, is expected to contribute more than 10 percent of the university’s electricity needs and be operational late this fall.
BP Solar will install and operate the system and sell electricity generated by the solar array to CSU-Pueblo.
Then Black Hills Energy will purchase onsite renewable energy credits generated from the system from BP Solar and provide a $200,000 rebate incentive for installation.
The project will help Black Hills Energy meet state requirements for generating electricity sales from renewable sources.
