Colorado State University police have released a picture of Matthew Quitmeyer, the former student who was found shot to death in a residence hall parking lot last week.

Police continue to investigate the death and have so far released little information. Campus police are pursuing “promising leads,” CSU spokeswoman Dell Rae Moellenberg said in a release.

Quitmeyer, 27, who completed the 2007 spring semester at Colorado State and withdrew that fall, was shot once in the chest.

His body was found Friday in a parking lot adjacent to CSU’s Summit Hall at 11:08 p.m.

Quitmeyer lived in an apartment building at 914 West Lake Street, next to the lot.

Grief and trauma counseling for employees and students troubled by the death are available through the University Counseling Center on campus.

Students and employees may call (970)491-6053 for an appointment, and the center also offers walk-in service through Hartshorn Health Center on campus. Counselors can travel to people in need of services.
