The Bureau of Land Management awarded a $15.4 million contract to North Wind Inc. of Idaho Falls, Idaho, for the cleanup of the Anvil Points oil-shale research site in Rifle.
The contract will fund the cleanup and removal of a 300,000-cubic-yard, spent oil-shale pile to a newly constructed oil-shale repository.
