ST. PAUL, Minn. — A small group opposed to the war in Iraq is walking 450 miles from Chicago to St. Paul, with plans to arrive just before the Republican National Convention.
Kathy Kelly, co-coordinator for the Chicago- based group, Voices for Creative Nonviolence, is among the walkers. She spoke to The Associated Press by phone from Sauk City, Wis., on Wednesday, saying things were going well — aside from mosquitoes and sore feet.
About a dozen walkers are averaging about 12 miles a day. In Sauk City, they attended an anti-war vigil.
The Republican National Convention is Sept. 1-4. The Associated Press
