DENVER—The University of Colorado says it has set a record for fundraising for a second straight year.

It says donors contributed $162.5 million for the fiscal year ending June 30, up from $133.5 million in the previous fiscal year.

Gifts to the University of Colorado Foundation made up $123.5 million of the latest total. The rest were donations made directly to CU.

Only 9 percent of CU’s $2.4 billion annual budget comes from state funding. Philanthropic dollars raised amount to almost 7 percent.
