A man who apparently fell into the Roaring Fork River was rescued this afternoon.

Dispatchers got a call about 1:30 p.m. of two men in the river near the Grottos, about 10 miles east of Aspen at Independence Pass, the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

First-responders found that one man got out on his own, but the other was still in the water and unconscious.

The man is being treated, and no other details were immediately available.
