Getting your player ready...
The Rapids loaned rookie midfielder Ciaran O’Brien to the Seattle Sounders of the USL First Division, coach Fernando Clavijo confirmed Wednesday.
O’Brien, 20, who was born in Tacoma, Wash., was selected by Colorado as the No. 5 pick in the SuperDraft this past January.
“We want him to play,” Clavijo said. “We want him to get minutes.”
O’Brien’s older brother, Leighton, is a midfielder for the Sounders.
Ciaran O’Brien played 19 minutes in the Rapids’ season opening 4-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on March 29. His debut ended with a red card after a hard foul on Carlos Ruiz.
O’Brien can be recalled by the Rapids at any time.
