The state won’t appeal a federal court ruling allowing students at a Christian university to receive state aid, Attorney General John Suthers and the state Department of Higher Education said Friday.
The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the state overstepped its bounds by allowing tuition vouchers to go to students at some religious schools but not those deemed “pervasively sectarian.” The state had approved vouchers for students at Roman Catholic and Methodist schools but not at Colorado Christian University or a Buddhist school.
