COLORADO SPRINGS — A 4-year-old boy can no longer attend his day care center after threatening to shoot his friends during a tantrum over his pillow being taken away during nap time.

A written report reviewed by The Gazette of the July 22 incident at The Family Development Center at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs documents Kyle Hudson’s alleged threat.

Kyle’s mother, Alice Hudson, a clinician at a mental health center, says she doesn’t allow her son to watch television or play with toy guns.

Hudson said campus police questioned her to learn if there were any guns in the house. She said there aren’t.

Susan Szpyrka, the associate vice chancellor at UCCS, says Kyle’s dismissal follows 45 incident reports written up by workers at the center during the past three years.
