Denver’s heat streak continued today with no let up forecast until Tuesday at the earliest.
The temperature at Denver International Airport this afternoon maxed out at 98, which is two degrees below the record of 100 degrees set in 1878.
This is the 22 consecutive day of 90-degree weather or hotter in Denver. The previous 90-degree record streak prior to this year was 18 days set in 1901 and 1878.
According to the National Weather Service this streak will continue on Monday before a slight cool down expected on Tuesday.
Monday’s forecast is isolated showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 99. Chance of precipitation is 10 percent.
On Tuesday, the National Weather Service calls for a high near 85 degrees.
