Frontier Airlines said its July passenger traffic set a record, with nearly 1.1 million people flying the Denver-based carrier. It was a 0.8 percent increase from July 2007.

Frontier’s passenger yield, or the amount it earned for each passenger-mile flown, was 12.08 cents in July, an increase of 3.9 percent from the same period last year. Frontier is restructuring under bankruptcy protection and received initial court approval for $75 million in loans Tuesday.

Separately, Frontier has removed pillows and blankets from its cabins as part of a cost-cutting effort, said the Denver Business Journal.
