WESTMINSTER — Attempts to recall three members of the Adams 50 School District board either have been dropped or fallen short on valid signatures.
Proponents for a recall of board President Vicky Marshall and board member Kevin Massey said Wednesday they were about 200 signatures short of the 2,507 needed to put a recall question on the November ballot. Attorney Dino Valente said the signatures were rejected by the Adams County clerk largely because of technical reasons, including illegible names or information.
Valente said his group, Restore Our Schools, may try again or push for the entire school board to put itself up for re-election this fall.
A third recall attempt against board member Marilyn Flachman was dropped last week at the request of Marshall and Massey. Flachman has harshly criticized both for agreeing to spend most of a $98.6 million bond issue in 2006 on a new signature high school in Westminster.
