“XXIX SUMMER GAMES OPENING CEREMONIES,” 6:30 p.m., KUSA-Channel 9 — NBC this week expanded its coverage of the opening ceremonies to four and a half hours after seeing “spectacular” dress rehearsals. Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, whose “Raise the Red Lantern” (1991) and “House of Flying Daggers” (2004) are best- known internationally, is the chief director of both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
