SUMMIT COUNTY — Summit County authorities think missing hiker Ryan Torpey, 31, a chef from Kansas City, Mo., fell to his death on Quandary Peak.
His body was spotted by a helicopter at 11:15 a.m. Thursday.
Torpey didn’t return from a hike that started at the Blue Lakes Trailhead on Wednesday. He and his family were vacationing in Breckenridge.
His family told rescuers Torpey was an experienced hiker who had been on Quandary Peak before.
