The Democratic National Convention Committee wants to compete with the media.

Every day of the convention, committee officials will produce a television show that will be posted on the website.

The show, “Countdown to America’s Future,” will be hosted by a different member of Congress each afternoon and promises exclusive one- on-ones, plus a nugget of information that viewers will not be able to find in any blog, news story or telecast.

A teaser viewed by The Denver Post on Monday showed Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz inviting viewers to the show. Another featured Gov. Bill Ritter and former Denver Mayor Federico Peña.

Convention officials say they want to remove filters and let viewers see five hours a day of the action.

“It’s all convention, all the time if they want that,” said Donna McNeely, news producer for the program.

Executive producer Mark Squier said it’s an example of how presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s campaign is creating a dialogue with voters.

In that vein, people across the country will be able to submit questions and comments through “America’s Town Hall” for the first three days of the convention.
