A Dallas slaughterhouse is recalling nearly 1 million pounds of cattle heads whose tonsils were not completely removed, the Department of Agriculture announced Monday.

Dallas City Packing issued the recall of 941,271 pounds of cattle heads — delivered to Colorado and five other states — because the tonsil remnants might contain the infective agent that causes mad cow disease.
