
Boulder police are looking for a brazen armed robber who held up a grocery store in the middle of the afternoon.
The robbery took place at about 3:50 p.m. at the King Soopers at 3600 block of Table Mesa Drive, police said in a news release.
The robbery occurred after the man walked up to the customer service counter and asked for a pack of cigarettes, police said. As the clerk opened the cash drawer the robber showed a handgun, tucked into his waistband, and demanded money.
He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and jumped into the passenger side of a beige, older-model compact car on the southwest side of the building.
The car headed north on Gillaspie Drive, a witness told investigators.
