Chicago White Sox slugger Carlos Quentin just can’t get out of the way. Quentin was hit by a pitch Thursday and has been plunked in his last six games, making him the only player since 1920 to endure such a dubious feat, according to Elias Sports Bureau. “Carlos is a hit magnet,” White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said. Quentin, who leads the AL with 32 homers, has been plunked a major league-high 20 times this season. Quentin has a history of being hit with pitches. In 379 minor-league games, he was hit 112 times.
