The Democratic National Convention Committee says the following items are barred from Invesco Field at Mile High when Barack Obama formally accepts the presidential nomination there on Aug. 28:
— Outside food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages, coolers and bottled water.
— Umbrellas. In case of inclement weather, the public is encouraged to bring raincoats or ponchos.
— Large bags, suitcases or backpacks.
— Noisemakers, air horns, whistles, cowbells, horns, bull horns or other voice amplifiers.
— Signs, banners, flags or other items that would obstruct anyone’s view or be a security risk.
— Unauthorized merchandise, unapproved pamphlets, handouts and advertisements.
— Knives, razor blades, scissors, knitting needles or other sharp or pointed objects.
— Mace, pepper spray or aerosol containers.
— Fireworks.
— Weapons, toy weapons and anything that might be used as a weapon or compromise public safety; non-medical-use canes, chains or sticks of any length.
— Screwdrivers or multi-tools such as Leatherman products.
— Dangerous or hazardous items or chemical, biological, radiological or similar materials.
— Animals, except service dogs and guide dogs.
— Folding chairs.
— Laser devices.
— Tripods.
— Bikes, inline skates, skateboards, scooters, shoes with wheels.
— Illegal drugs and other illegal substances.
— Frisbee-like flying discs or inflated balls.
Other rules:
— Strollers and baby seats may not be taken into the stands or left at section entrances.
— Cameras with lenses shorter than 75mm and small, hand-held video cameras are allowed, but photographers may not block anyone else’s view. Only credentialed media are allowed to have professional photography, video and audio equipment.
