An election cycle’s free ride
If you’d just rather not take the chance that there will be room in the racks at the front of the bus, or you’ve forgotten to get a permit that allows you to bring a bike on the light rail, Freewheelin’ is there to fill the gap between the artificial end of your commute and the office.
The nonprofit partnership of Humana and Bikes Belong has stocked stations in seven downtown locations with 1,000 commuter bikes. Borrow one for free anytime 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 25-28. Helmets provided. Sign up in advance at , or sign up at the stations, located at: 14th and Stout streets, across from the Colorado Convention Center; West 13th Avenue and Bannock Street, across from the Denver Art Museum; East 17th Avenue and Lincoln Street, at the Wells Fargo center; Platte Street at the base of the 16th Street pedestrian bridge; 1536 Wynkoop St., at the Alliance Center; Speer Boulevard and Champa Street, at Sculpture Park; Wynkoop Street at Cherry Creek.
