ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler offered sobering words today to his Green Bay counterpart Aaron Rodgers, who is charged with taking over the Packers after Brett Favre’s departure.
Cutler says he told the fourth-year quarterback that as long as he wears a Packer’s uniform, he will always hear about Favre.
Cutler says he empathizes with Rodgers and thinks he’s doing a good job handling his new responsibilities.
Cutler acknowledges having a much easier time when he took over as the starting quarterback for the Broncos in 2006 during his rookie season when he replaced Jake Plummer.
The Broncos will host the Packers for a pre-season game Friday.
