BANGKOK, Thailand — British glam rocker Gary Glitter was refused entry into Thailand after he failed to board a flight to London at the Bangkok airport today. He had been deported from Vietnam after serving nearly three years in prison for child molestation.
Immigration officials allowed Glitter, 64, to stay at the Thai airport after he complained of an earache, police said. An immigration official said his department received a note from Vietnam and Interpol requesting that Glitter not be allowed entry into the country.
Glitter, whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd, had been imprisoned in Vietnam for committing obscene acts involving two girls, ages 10 and 11. The Associated Press
