A motorcycle rider on a Yamaha bike crashed on southbound Interstate 25 in Colorado Springs early this morning after speeding away from troopers at a traffic stop.
The rider was taken to Memorial Hospital with injuries following the 6:18 a.m. crash, said Trooper Ryan Sullivan, spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.
The condition of the rider is not known. The person’s name, age and gender were not immediately available, Sullivan said.
The motorcycle rider was speeding south in Colorado Springs when a trooper pulled him over, he said. But after briefly stopping, the motorcycle rider took off, leading the trooper on a chase.
The motorcycle rider lost control and crashed in south Colorado Springs, Sullivan said. The trooper did not witness the accident, he said.
