Franchitti captured the 2007 Indianapolis 500 and Indy Racing League championship but has been a bust in NASCAR’s top series. Before his team, Chip Ganassi Racing, mothballed his car because of a lack of success and sponsorship, he qualified for just 10 races, with an average start of 28.2 and finish of 38.9. He is 43rd in the standings. One has to wonder if the wife of movie star Ashley Judd is ready to return to his roots and compete in the new unified series that is the IRL, where he immediately would again become one of its biggest names.
