The sun is shining down on Denver today, as daytime temperatures climb to 84 degrees and winds blow calmly from the southeast.
The National Weather Service says the arrival of mid-80s temps marks a return to the average high in August, which is 87 degrees.
Last week, a chilling wet air mass moved from the north through the northern and central Rocky Mountains.
It was so cold, new record low maximum temperatures were set in Denver for both August 15th and 16th. Temps peaked at 59 and 58 degrees, respectively.
The rest of the week should be warm and mostly sunny.
Tomorrow’s 86-degree high will come with a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
The weather service expects Thursday to be brighter and sunnier, with a high near 88.
Friday, temperatures will begin to dip. The daytime high will be 84 degrees, and the 10 percent chance of rain will return.
Overnight lows will hover near the mid 50s all week, peaking at 58 degrees on Wednesday night.
The weekend forecast is partly cloudy, with a slight chance of rain both days. The high will be near 82 on Saturday, rising to 86 degrees on Sunday.
