BRIGHTON, Colo.—A 2-year-old boy hospitalized after being found in a hot tub in unincorporated Adams County has died.
Adams County deputies responded to a residence Aug. 12 after a woman picking up her dog from the home discovered the boy in the water.
Deputies attended to the boy until medical personnel arrived and he was airlifted to a hospital.
The boy and a 2-year-old sister had been left with a 28-year-old uncle while the boy’s father ran errands.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Candi Baker says the boy died Tuesday evening after being hospitalized for a week.
An investigation into the death is under way.
Authorities have not released the boy’s name.
